Spring rolling into
summer - what better time to explore the wines of the Mediterranean
accompanied by local cheese and foods? Once again Maryann whips
up some amazing hors d'Hoeuvres as our guest speaker
introduces us to wines from the med (Red, rose and white).
The
wines, from Domaine de la Courtade, located on the island of
Porquerolles are unique. The
island is a French National Park and the agriculture is organic as no chemicals
are used to fertilize and there are no cars on the island!
Guest
speaker Jean Pierre Rioux will walk us through the effects of
soil, climate, aging methods and grape varietals as we sip and
possibly slip away!
What
better accompaniment than cheese!
An informal introduction to this world allows us to
compare different types for which the area is famous.
Our thanks to
Domaine de la Courtade, distributed by
Metro Wine and to Murray's
Cheese for their tremendous help in supporting this
event
